Quiz Dress Your Nails: Blogger Competition

I'm really excited about today's post as it is one of my favourite nail designs yet! I was contacted by Quiz a little while ago and invited to take part in their blogger competition to design a nail art look based on one of their dresses.

So I went to their website and unfortunately wanted to turn almost every dress into a design, especially the sparkly ones! It took me a while to whittle it down to this gold number a gold sequin zig zag maxi dress, which I think is absolutely stunning and would be perfect for Christmas or a party. Let's have a closer look at the full length dress.

I used a coat of 17 Supreme Shine in Mink as a base. I then used striping tape once the polish dried to create a pattern similar to that on the dress. I did different bits of the dress on different nails and then painted a thick coat of Gosh's Frosted Gold which has a sand matte glitter look. I whipped off the tape while the polish was still wet, being careful to tidy up any bits the polish had come up and let it dry.

I haven't finished with a topcoat as I didn't think it needed any and the sand look looks pretty similar to the sequins up close.

What do you think of the look? I am quite liking this as a Christmas party look so may try it again. To check out looks other bloggers have posted you can search for #quizdressnails on Twitter. Also, be sure to check out my blog for nail art looks throughout December as I will be posting a new festive look daily.
