Manicure Monday - Orange nail art
The book in question is Nail Art Sourcebook, which is an amazing picture gallery of designs that I have been using to get inspiration as most of them are too advanced or complicated for me too replicate exactly. So that was how today's design was born. I was playing with polishes as Asif was recording a podcast with one of his blog friends from Australia. Watching TV was out of the question, so I decided to plan my blog and sort out some polishes. I found these three which would be the basis for today's design.
I painted two coats of Revlon's Gold Coast as a base. The polish is sheer with flecks of golds and yellows, which were perfect for a foundation, which can be seen near the nail bed. This was followed by sponging on Nails Inc's Hampstead Gardens, which looks like a yellow mustard colour in the bottle. Once sponged on, it gave a subtle transition from the gold. Finally, I sponged on Rimmel's Tangerine Queen on the tips. As it is quite bright I didn't want it to detract from the other colours too much, so I kept it light on the nails.
To finish off, I used Models Own's black nail art pen to paint the wispy lines and dots over the design and topped with Seche Vite's top coat.
Not a particularly difficult design, but I liked how it turned out. What do you think of it?
