Food Friday - Maedah Grill

A while back Asif and I took a visit to Whitechapel to one of our favourite restaurants, Maedah Grill.

The Turkish restaurant is tucked away in Fieldgate Street, and is fully halal. It has an amazing range on the menu and a good selection of both starters and mains.

We started with the Maedah Mezze, which was a selection of tasty cold starters including humus, cacik (fresh yoghurt, with cucumber, fresh mint and garlic), patlican babaganus (grilled aubergine with green peppers, tomatoes, garlic in olive oil), and potato salad and a lahmuchun.

For our main we had a Maedah Kofte, made from minced beef/ chicken, served with ezme salad with rice and chips. It was served with a spicy tomato, chilli and garlic sauce - hot but delicious!

We finished it off with a slice of chocolate cake, and banoffee pie. I also had a glass of mango lassi - refreshing to wash it all down with. The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm, the service is good, and the food is amazing. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the Whitechapel area.
