Urban Decay Flash eyeshadow

I have become a new convert to Urban Decay, and despite the company's decision to sell in China, then take back their decision I still love the quality of their products. I already own the Naked 2 palette and the Anniversary box, but wanted some other colours to add to the collection as I already have plenty of browns and neutrals.

I brought this particular colour to match an outfit I was wearing to an evening reception I was attending. My outfit was green and purple, and I wanted a smokey eye look. I originally wanted another darker purple colour but my local Debenhams didn't have it so I opted for this purple colour in Flash. Not my first choice, but the event was that evening so I needed to buy something fast.

I initially didn't like the shadow as I thought the colour was too pale, and when applied was too sheer. I have read many reviews from people who had the same experience initially. But after working with it I found the colour buildable and easy to work with and it turned out to be a good addition to my makeup look for the event I was atending.

It has a cool undertone, and has hints of both silver and blue in it, and looks amazing with both of these colours. It think it works well if you are doing a smokey eye look, or even if you want a little splash of colour. If you want staying power I would recommend a good primer under it as alone the colour payoff isn't great and fades quickly.

A plus is that it isn't glittery, but is shimmery with a matte finish. This gets a big thumbs up from me and one of my favourite eyeshadows of the moment.

It is priced £14 and available here.

Lush craziness

Last weekend I met up in Covent Garden with a few other lovely bloggers. We went for food and then did a spot of shopping. Unfortunately I went a bit crazy in Lush in Covent Garden. Oops! I have been past it many a time and probably it was a good thing I had never realised it had a downstairs haven full of goodies.

I ended up spending quite a bit on these goodies! It was just too tempting. But my reasoning was I have used all of these products before, bar the Brazened Honey face mask, and know they all work and are good. Anyway, reviews to follow. Love my Lush goodies!

Noble Isle Summer Rising

I received this shower gel in my last Glossybox and my first thoughts were that I liked the bottle and design. Simple, but it looked upmarket.
Noble and Isle is a British company who say they want to reinvent the British summer with this and the three other shower gels in their range. They also claim that the gel will leave the skin soft, clean and sumptuously scented.

The one I received was called Summer Rising Cornish Hedgerows and is meant to "evoke the beginnings of summer, with extracts of toning elderflower and antioxidant-charged gooseberry with clean notes of orange blossom, moss and cut grass."

I can't say that I smelt any grass and moss, or could single out the other frangrances, but it had a light and refreshing smell, which on first thoughts wouldn't be too out of place in a unisex or man's shower gel. Nonetheless it was pleasant, and summery. And true to its word it did leave a lingering smell after I had washed it off, unlike many other shower gels I have used.

Unlike other gels I found it quite thick - in a good way. Only a little was needed and it lathered up quite well. Cost efficient in the long run, but while talking of cost, a 250ml bottle would set you back £20. A little pricey for a shower gel in my opinion, no matter how nice it is.

You can buy it here. Have you tried this? If you did, what did you think of it?
