Urban Decay Flash eyeshadow

I have become a new convert to Urban Decay, and despite the company's decision to sell in China, then take back their decision I still love the quality of their products. I already own the Naked 2 palette and the Anniversary box, but wanted some other colours to add to the collection as I already have plenty of browns and neutrals.

I brought this particular colour to match an outfit I was wearing to an evening reception I was attending. My outfit was green and purple, and I wanted a smokey eye look. I originally wanted another darker purple colour but my local Debenhams didn't have it so I opted for this purple colour in Flash. Not my first choice, but the event was that evening so I needed to buy something fast.

I initially didn't like the shadow as I thought the colour was too pale, and when applied was too sheer. I have read many reviews from people who had the same experience initially. But after working with it I found the colour buildable and easy to work with and it turned out to be a good addition to my makeup look for the event I was atending.

It has a cool undertone, and has hints of both silver and blue in it, and looks amazing with both of these colours. It think it works well if you are doing a smokey eye look, or even if you want a little splash of colour. If you want staying power I would recommend a good primer under it as alone the colour payoff isn't great and fades quickly.

A plus is that it isn't glittery, but is shimmery with a matte finish. This gets a big thumbs up from me and one of my favourite eyeshadows of the moment.

It is priced £14 and available here.

  1. It looks and sounds nice, but I'm the opposite, I'm really going off UD at the moment, finding better cheaper alternatives. Shame, I love their packaging!

    1. It is a bit pricey, but luckily my sister has bought me some, I have some money off with Debenhams Beauty Card points, and using vouchers. I have quite a few now, so would need a good excuse to splash out on some more by using just my own money.
Which cheaper ones are you using at the moment?
