Sex and the City is returning to the small screen!

Well ladies its time to get those Cosmopolitans and Manolos ready because it looks like our favourite New York foursome are coming back - but not as we know them.

Sex and the City will be returning to the small screen but with younger incarnations of Carrie Bradshaw.

Sarah Jessica Parker has approved the Sex and the City's prequel The Carrie Diaries.

It will document the iconic Carrie Bradshaw character's life before the original series.

The show is remoured to being developed by the producers of Gossip Girl and could be coming to television screens by the end of next year.

It is expected to follow Carrie's senior year of high school in the 1890s and is based on Sex and the City's author Candace Bushnell's book The Carrie Diaries. Her second book was called Summer and the City: A Carrie Diaries Book which chronicles her first trip to New York.

So what do you think? Will you be watching it? And does the rumour it is being developed by Gossip Girl producers make you want to switch on or switch off?

  1. Lose the petty drama of Gossip Girl... keep the stylish realism of Sex and the City... and it will be fabulous.

  2. I agree with you Rebecca. They have to keep to the same format to keep the loyal fans happy. If it goes too Gossip Girl-ish they will alienate them.

But having said that I will still be watching it!

  3. UPDATE - news out today is also linking Miley Cyrus, Emma Roberts and Chloe Moretz to the role too. Who do you think would play it best?
